Intellectual Capital as a subject has been around for more than 20 years. Yet its widespread adoption in the mainstream business continuity remains a hope. In the blog post Taking IC to the maintsream, i discuss my approach to addressing this problem, which essentially involves using the concepts of Intellectual Capital to "show me the money". I invite comments from other IC practitioners on this approach as well as share their own thoughts on how we can address this problem more effectively.

Great discussion Abhijit! I learned a few things about the history and totally agree with you about the current need for a practitioner conversation. I hope this can be a preface to our IC Practitioners inaugural call on June 14.  Please RSVP if you can come. We will be announcing internet "call-in" info soon.
Mary, I have already noted the date on my calendar. Please let me know the time of the call, so I can decide whether the timezone difference will work for me .
The time is 9 AM EDT in the U.S.--there is no perfect time for an international call but this maximizes the global waking hours. Hope it works for you.

Alas, Abhijit, on June 14th my bit of the IC community will be gathering in Tampere, Finland, for the 6th International Forum on Knowledge Assets Dynamics - http://www.knowledgeasset.org/IFKAD/index.asp - and so unable to join in the inaugural call as we might wish.

I shall have to try and catch up later.

JC - Feel free to post the Forum information on our Events page. We plan to continue the Practitioners calls in the future. Hope you can join us some other time!  Mary
